2007 Rally Day 5

Thursday 3rd May Dubrovnik, Croatia - Zagreb, Croatia

A rainy day in Dubrovnik didn’t dampen the spirits of the drivers, as they set out for their next jaunt to Zagreb. After a day’s rest and relaxation in Dubrovnik, our drivers set off to their checkpoint treat – Grobnik Race Track.

The Diablo was fixed and back on the road without need for the hire car which Carbon Black had arranged as a standby – great to see this little beauty back on the tarmac.

Tango and Sten were second to arrive at the race track and were on good form.

The Maserati went piggyback on a trailer as she was leaking oil. A typical lady - if needs be, there’s nothing wrong with getting a piggyback when you’re feeling a bit jaded.

The conditions were notably wet, so the drivers took it steady and all arrived safely for a few hot, if not soggy, laps round the track. Wing Commander Donut, who somehow refuses to stay out of the limelight, Today’s donut count is, as of yet, unconfirmed. As the conditions were wet, the boys didn’t stay too long, and set off making headway to Zagreb.
 

All the drivers arrived safely at The Regent, Esplanade in Zagreb, with lots of banter in the bar about their day on the road.

Tonight, it’s some top scran and a party at a club, then a casino to wind down from another day of delicious, but damp, driving. Dave has flown in to replace Hed Kandi’s Phil for the night’s Djing – a huge thanks to Phil for entertaining the Carbon Black pack, you’ll be very much missed and we hope you’ll hook up with the event again!

Tomorrow, it’s the grand finale for the Eastern Europe Rally, and so to Venice. An insanely lavish party at the incredible Westin Excelsior Lido after a simply fabulous week with Carbon Black. If you’re in the area, come and see the boys and their stupendous wheels when they arrive.
